Gweg woke up with a big smile on his face.
Today was a the day! The day Gweg and his parents go to the zoo!
Gweg was more excited about this than anything he had ever looked forward to before.
Gweg ran into his parents bedroom.
Gweg: Mommy! Daddy! Wake up! It's time to go to the zoo!
Gweg's dad woke up and looked at the clock on his bedstand.
Dad: Gweg, it's six o'clock, We won't be going to the zoo for another five hours.
Gweg: But Daddy, I want to go now!
Dad: You really want to see the animals don't you?
Gweg: You bet I do!
Dad: Well, you go read your Zoo Books one more time and then we'll be ready to go to the zoo.
Gweg: Ok Daddy.
Gweg went back to his room and got out his Zoo Books. He loved reading about giraffes, zebras, hippos, elephants, kangaroos, and sorts of other animals.
Gweg finished reading all of his Zoo Books. He then looked at his clock and saw it was almost time to go. Gweg changed into the clothes his mother had laid out for him the previous night.
His mom picked out his favorite shirt for him to wear, a shirt which had Gweg's favorite animal on it, the lion.
Gweg chose the lion as his favorite animal because the lion was the king of the jungle.
Gweg was scared of lions, but he thought there was something really cool about them. He couldn't wait to see them at the zoo.
From a safe distance of course!
Gweg and his parents were all set to go and got into their car.
For the car trip, Gweg brought along his Zoo Books to read over again.
Halfway to the zoo, Gweg's mom asked Gweg some questions.
Mom: You really like wild animals, don't you Gweg?
Gweg: I sure do Mommy.
Mom: What's you favorite animal?
Gweg: The lion!
Gweg then let out a tiny roar.
Mom: My goodness Gweg! You love lions so much, that you are starting to turn into one!
Gweg: Oh Mommy, don't be silly, I'm not going to turn into a lion.
Dad: Better watch out for the wolves when we get there, if one bites you, you will turn into a werewolf every time the moon is full or when you get angry!
Mom: Don't tell him things like that!
Gweg: I know he's just trying to scare me mom. It's not going to work, Dad.
Dad: I don't know, your Grandpa got bit by a wolf, and you know how hairy he is.
Gweg's mom scowled at her husband.
They arrived at the zoo. As soon as the paid there way into the zoo, Gweg's eyes soaked in the sight. The place was huge!
They followed the path that would take them to see all the animals. They saw Australian animals, they went by the reptile house, where Gweg even saw a komodo dragon.
They finally reached the area of the zoo that had the African animals. Gweg really was excited now.
Gweg saw what he was looking for, the lion pen.
Gweg got as close to the pen as the zoo allowed and looked on with incredible interest. There were 6 lions, all laying around. Gweg was staring so intently at them, that he didn't hear a man walk up behind him.
The Man: You like them lions, boy?
Gweg was startled and turned around. He saw a man standing there wearing the uniform he had seen on the zoo workers.
The Man: Hi there son, my name is Richard the Zoo Keeper.
Gweg: Hi.
Richard: So, you like them lions?
Gweg: I sure do!
Dad: The lions were pretty much the main reason he wanted to come here.
Richard: I'll let you in on a little secret, I love the lions too.
Gweg: Do you get to work with them up close?
Richard: I sure do. In fact, if it's all right with your parents, I can take you back in for a closer look at them.
Gweg turned to his parents with his best "pretty please" look.
Dad: Well, you will be with a professional, so I guess it's all right.
Gweg: Yay!
Richard: Ok Gweg, come with me.
Richard took Gweg to the Zoo Keeper area behind the lion pen.
Richard: Guess what Gweg, we have got a 5 month old lion back in the vet area. It will be safe for you to pet him.
Gweg: Oh boy!
Richard and Gweg got to the vet area. The lion cub was lying in a pen.
Richard: Go ahead Gweg, it's safe to pet him.
Gweg cautiously led his hand to the cub. The cub nuzzled against his hand and allowed Gweg to pet him. Gweg was so happy.
Gweg turned around to thank Richard for letting him pet the cub, but as soon as Gweg saw Richard, he let out a scream.
Richard had turned into a werewolf.
Werewolf Richard leapt forward and pulled Gweg off of his feet.
Werewolf Richard stared right into Gweg's eyes.
Werewolf Richard: At last, vengeance is mine!
Werewolf Richard put Gweg's throat into his wide, razor-toothed filled jaws. With a sickening crunch and a twist, Werewolf Richard had severed Gweg's head from his body.
Werewolf Richard took the beheaded body of Gweg and threw it into the lion pen.
The lion's had not been fed for two days and instantly devoured the body.
Werewolf Richard took Gweg's head out to his parents and threw it at them, hit Gweg's dad right in the chest, leaving a bloody pulp on his new white shirt.
Mom: Why did you kill our son!
Werewolf Richard: Say hi to your father for me, bitch!
Gweg didn't get to see the rest of the animals that day, because Gweg was dead.
The End
