What a wonderful day! Gweg and his parents are spending the day at the beach. Gweg was having a wonderful time, making sand castles, playing volleyball, and going to swim in the ocean.
Gweg decided to go exploring on the beach. Gweg's mother made sure he knew they had set up their stuff near Life Guard Post # 19, so Gweg would be able to find his way back with no problems.
Gweg was having a fun time find shells all along the beach. But Gweg was even more excited when he saw a sign.
The sign said:
ATTENTION BOYS AND GIRLS! DO YOU WANT TO GO ON A REAL LIFE PIRATE SHIP?
IF YOU DO, GET YOUR PARENTS TO BRING YOU DOCK 94 TO SIGN UP FOR THE GREATEST
ADVENTURE OF YOUR LIFE!
Gweg could hardly contain his enthusiasm. He ran back to where his parents where at.
Gweg got back to his parents and started yelling.
"Mommy, Daddy! I want to go on the Pirate Ride!"
Gweg's Dad turned to him and said, "I don't know Gweg, a Pirate Ride sounds awfully dangerous."
Gweg's excitement started to drain out of his body.
"But dad, it's just a ride."
Gweg's Dad seemed to think this over. "Hmmm, let's see what your mom has to say about this."
Gweg's Mom said, "Let me check my day planner to see if we have time for such a ride."
Gweg's Mom looked her purse and pulled out 3 pieces of paper.
Gweg's Mom said, "Well look at what I have here. It's 3 tickets for the Pirate Ride!"
Gweg cheered.
Gweg and his parents went to Dock 94 and presented their tickets to the Ticket Taker. He had them follow him onto a huge boat.
The Ticket Taker said, "Well, this is your baot. The captain will be out to meet you in a minute.
Gweg's parents thanked the Ticket Taker as he left the boat. Gweg looked all around the big boat he was on. It looked just like the pirate baots Gweg had seen in books and on the movies.
Gweg turned to his parents and said, "Thanks Mom and Dad for bringing me to the beach and taking me on the Pirate Ride!"
Gweg's Mom and Dad looked at him and smiled. Gweg's Dad said, "Anything for our only boy."
All of the sudden, the air around them got cold. The heard some odd footsteps fall behind them, they turned around to see what it was and Gweg let out a gasp.
Standing there was a man with a long black hair and a thick black beard. He had an eye patch over his right eye. On his shoulder sat a parrot. The man wore a white puffy shirt and tattered black pants. He also had a wooden left leg.
The man said, "Arrrrr! I be Richard the Pirate!" The parrot squawked, "Awwk. Richard the Pirate, awwk!"
Richard the Pirate looked over Gweg and his parents.
He said, "Arrr. You be the sorriest looking swabbies I ever laid my good eye on, that ye be! But I always be looking for some extra ship mates, so avast ye mateys! Set the mast! We ship sail right now!"
The boat started moving out to sea.
Gweg turned to his parents and said, "This is going to be great."
As the ship sailed on, Richard the Pirate had Gweg and his parents do various pirate type things. There were 5 other pirates on the ship. Gweg got to climb up to the Crow's Nest to look out for other ships.
Richard the Pirate called Gweg down and brought his parents out to the middle of the boat.
Richard the Pirate said, "All right mateys. Since we be not finding any ships to plunder, I think we needs to head back to land. Arrr."
Gweg was disappointed. Gweg told the captain, "I think we should stay out a little longer."
Richard the Pirate snarled. Arrr! Mutiny, that's what this be! You Gweg, you are going to walk the plank!" The parrot squawked "Awwk, Walk the plank, walk the plank!"
Two of the pirates grabbed Gweg and put him on the plank. Richard the Pirate took out his sword and pointed it at Gweg.
"Arr Gweg, now it's time to walk the plank!"
Gweg started to walk the plank, but he wasn't scared. "This is all a part of the ride" Gweg thought to himself.
Gweg had reached the very end of the plank and started to step off of it.
Richard the Pirate yelled out, "No, wait a second!"
But it was too late. Gweg fell into the ocean. As soon as he did, 2 sharks came up to him and ripped him apart.
Richard the Pirate turned to Gweg's parents.
"Oh my god! Didn't you read the brochure? You were supposed to yell out to your son not to d it then you were going to defeat me in a sword fight! That's part of the ride!"
Gweg's parents just smiled. Gweg's Dad said, "Yeah, we know. We just wanted to get rid of the little bastard."
Gweg never got to go on any more fun rides, because Gweg was dead.
